A 75-year-old native of Lviv was repressed in Crimea for "insulting the Russian army"
Russian Interior Ministry officers detained 75-year-old Yuriy Bozhenko, a native of Lviv, in occupied Armyansk. The man was accused of "suffering for Ukraine in social networks, waiting for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, insulting Russia and its armed forces." The detention of Yuriy Bozhenko took place with the assistance of the Crimean SMERSH initiative, which identifies residents of the TOT of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea with pro-Ukrainian and/or anti-war sentiments and passes them on to the occupation "law enforcement agencies."
In the "police station", Yuriy Bozhenko was forced to say on camera that he "due to his stupidity" posted calls in support of the Ukrainian army on social media, but he has already deleted them and no longer supports the Ukrainian army. The recording was published on the Internet. A "protocol" was drawn up against the man, and the "case materials" were sent to the "court."
Earlier, "Voice of Crimea" reported about the increasing frequency of repressions against elderly residents of the region who express pro-Ukrainian and/or anti-war sentiments in the TOT of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
At the same time, Russian propaganda claims that the occupation forces in Crimea are not detaining descriptors of the Kremlin regime, but "criminals recruited by the SBU and the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine who pose a danger to civilians". These statements are in line with the information narratives that the Russian occupiers are forming about the pro-Ukrainian population of the TOT of Crimea
