Resident of Russian hinterland convicted for financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine
A Russian court will sentence a resident of Omsk for helping to finance the Ukrainian Legion "Freedom of Russia".
The criminal case was initiated on the basis of materials collected by the Federal Security Service of Russia in Omsk region.
During the investigation, it was established that in October-November 2023, the accused allegedly transferred 11 SMS messages to an unidentified person for registration of accounts for a monetary reward. Later, these accounts were used to create cryptocurrency wallets, which contributed to the financing of the Ukrainian Legion "Freedom of Russia", recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia.
The Russian was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison, the statement said.
Recently "Holos Kryma" reported that a local resident was arrested in occupied Simferopol who allegedly planned to set fire to a mosque. Over the past month, this was the second "terrorist" who, according to the occupiers of the peninsula, allegedly wanted to burn down the mosque.
