In Ukraine, as in the rest of the world, Muslims celebrate Oraza Bayram
The editorial board of the Voice of Crimea News Agency congratulates the Crimean Tatars, the indigenous people of Ukraine, and all Muslims of Ukraine on the holiday of Oraza Bayram
"Talking about the Crimean Tatar culture, it is impossible not to mention the holy month of Ramadan and one of the two most important holidays celebrated by the Crimean Tatars - Oraza Bayram," says Zarema Barieva, Crimean Tatar Resource Center.Ramadan is a 30-day fast that begins on the first day of the new moon of Ramadan (or Ramadan). According to legend, it was in this month that Muhammad submitted to Mecca and the Quran was given to Muslims. Ramadan is also a period of compulsory fasting for Muslims that lasts 29-30 days, which is also called "oraza" among Turkic peoples
After the end of the 30-day fast, Muslims celebrate the holiday - Oraza Bayram, which lasts three days. It is believed that it was at this time that the first lines of the Quran were sent to the Prophet Mohammed
