The reserve in the east of occupied Crimea was closed for years because of the occupation military
The Opuk Nature Reserve in the south of the Kerch Peninsula is closed for the coming years, as it is surrounded by land allocated for occupation military units. This was reported on the air of the Russian occupiers-controlled Sputnik in Crimea radio by the "chief state inspector in the field of environmental protection", the "director" of the "Reserve Crimea" institution Artur Murzakhanov.
According to him, on the one hand, this is bad for those who like to visit the reserve, and on the other hand, "nature should rest".
In addition, Murzakhanov complained that access to the reserve is closed not only for visitors, but also for employees.
Before the Russian occupation of Crimea, the Cape Opuk coast was home to an air defense training ground of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and the 31st Research Center of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. After the occupation, it became the long-range training ground of the 810th Separate Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet
